She holds a Ph.D. in History from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She also serves in an honorary/non-executive capacity as an Executive Council Member and Secretary-General of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Interdisciplinary Science Society, Vice Secretary-General of the Southwest Associated University Beijing Alumni Association, and Vice Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Association of Vietnamese, Cambodian and Laotian Chinese Organizations.
She was awarded the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's highest scholarship for doctoral students (HKPFS). She obtained dual bachelor's degrees in History and International Business English from Jilin University, a master's degree in Modern World History (International Relations) from Jilin University, and a master's degree in International Communications from Leeds University, UK.
Her main research areas include modern and contemporary Chinese history (including the history of the Chinese Communist Party's underground organizations and Southwest Associated University history), oral history, Hong Kong history, US-Hong Kong relations, international relations, and international strategies in biomedicine. She has presided over National Social Science Fund follow-up funding projects and key high-end think tank projects. Related monographs will be published by Social Sciences Academic Press, and she has published multiple Chinese and English academic papers, translations, and current affairs commentaries in core journals and newspapers both domestically and internationally.
Having cultivated deep expertise in the field of oral history for many years, she has guided interview research projects for multiple renowned universities, research institutions, and museums both domestically and internationally. Since 2005, she has conducted exclusive interviews with over 200 important witnesses of modern and contemporary Chinese history (including Chai Zemin, China's first ambassador to the United States; Academician Chen Nengkuan, a recipient of the “Two Bombs, One Satellite” Meritorious Medal; Academician Pan Jiluan, President of the Southwest Associated University Beijing Alumni Association, among others), as well as more than 10 former foreign political leaders (such as Dr. Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State; Tony Blair, former British Prime Minister; Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former French Prime Minister; Gerhard Schröder, former German Chancellor).
As chief correspondent for oral history, the 20-episode tribute series "My Country and I" commemorating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China premiered on CCTV-1 and was rebroadcast on the Documentary Channel. She comprehensively planned CCTV's large-scale program "My Long March" public welfare activity and served as the overall project director for this public welfare project and chief correspondent for oral history.
